Happy New Year 2025!

Happy New Year!

Is it presumptuous to think that I will blog more in the new year? Maybe, but I just like the way this allows me to share my thoughts.

So, an update is in order...

Since the last time I have posted, I have finished publishing Muted Voices to Wattpad! (link in the Muted Voices tab) This was a huge project for me, as it allowed me to adapt to the worldbuilding already set out by Horikoshi in the My Hero Academia universe from the manga and anime. It was fantastic practice to create only a few characters and see how their interactions impact the story from the sidelines. As the story progressed, I found myself creating new plotlines and eventually felt ready to start work on my next big project.

Jaded was a dream come true for me to work on. While still utilizing the MHA worldbuilding, I created entirely my own plot and cast of characters. The story is almost completely original in that way, and I love it for that. I wanted to see if I had enough skill to create the intersecting plot points to create something worth reading, but at the end of the day, I ended up with something that brought me joy to write, which I believe is much more rewarding. While it took me a while to get it ready, I believe it was worth it to spend so much time editing so that updates can come once a week to Wattpad until it will be complete.

As for future projects, I will continue to work on crossovers with the UA Storytellers and create books that make me happy. I have a few future projects in the works, including some books that I would like to one day publish as physical copies, but until then, I will continue to practice and refine my process so that I can be ready to complete those proper novels. However, I will most likely be adding tags for these stories so that I can give updates in the planning process, so I'll talk a little bit about what the plan for each story is.

The first is a story that came to me in a dream, a fantasy that was mildly inspired by the story of Rapunzel. In a world of magic, it's not trusted in the kingdom I am focusing on. The majority of the magic users in said kingdom are orphans, as they were disowned from the moment they expressed any magical prowess due to paranoia and prejudice of their families. I have begun worldbuilding for this one, and will hopefully have some good updates for it soon. I'll be referring to this just as "Royal Fantasy" until I come up with a more permanent name.

The second story is a more recent idea that stemmed from the romance novels I have been devouring as of late. I'm currently calling it "Summer Jobs." I am not as confident writing adult literature yet, so the story will be about a group of teenagers who live in a touristy beach town, yet have to work over the summer rather than enjoy the break from school. This will focus on a wholesome romance between the main character and the new kid in town (because who doesn't love a good cliché?) all while trying to help out a local business on its last legs. For this story, I have begun to sort out the details of the characters and how they will all interact with one another. Since this story takes place in our own world and I don't need to create any magic system (or language!), I should have updates on this one much sooner.

Wish me luck in all these endeavors! I will certainly need it! But until the next update, I hope your new year treats you right!

  1. It's so exciting to read about all the projects you're working on! You inspire me so much as a writer. I wish I was more like you when it comes to writing. Yoy meticulously plan out your stories and don't show them until they are refined and ready. I fly by the seat of my pants and start posting things after doing a minor spell check lol. Maybe that should be New Year's resolution. To be more professional with my writing.

Anyways, can't wait to see all the cool stuff you have planned for this year!
