Summer Updates and A New Story!
I know I have been away for a while, but I'm glad to finally be done with school! Honestly, this summer has been so productive for me that I wanted to only share my project bingo when it ended. I was just on a roll, and got a ton done!
My "Secret Project" has officially been announced as Jaded came to a close, but I am working on Book Two of the Balance The Scales series, which will be titled Weightless and will focus on Kaede! The story will pick up right after Jaded leaves off. I do plan on eventually writing a third and fourth book for the series, but those will take place later in life for the cast. I already have lots of ideas, and I can't wait to get to work. But currently, I'm chugging through the third arc of Weightless, and I have to say, it's very tedious. Just because there are so many plot points I want to include, and I was struggling to tie them all together. But I recently came up with a solution that works, so I will be continuing at a better pace with that.
As for my other stories, I haven't really made any headway on the Royal Fantasy story, but I did get a bit of planning done on Summer Jobs (as you can tell by the half icon on my planning box). I'm mostly working on the romance part of it now, as I think I have a fairly good hold on the friendships and conflict. I will try to get some chapters drafted once I finish Weightless, but I have to admit that I have found myself drifting towards another concept altogether...
This story is not on my bingo board at all because I only recently came up with it. If you have known me for a while, you'll know that I love The Cheetah Girls, Sailor Moon, and all things "girl groups." When K-Pop Demon Hunters came out this summer, you know I was all over that. But my love for friendship-centered stories inspired me to begin working on a new project. It all came to a head when Pinterest served me a set of five character references that sparked the idea. I have wanted to create a vigilante-style story for a while, but have never quite had the plot for one. This all changed when I saw these five characters, and Moonreacher (working title) was born! I have since been brainstorming for the story, pretty much nonstop.
First and foremost, I had to consider if I wanted the story to remain in the My Hero Academia universe, since I was familiar with the rules and quirk system, but with the ideas I had, I knew there was something special here that I wanted to share beyond Wattpad, so I got to work on creating my own world with a new magic system, new countries, new technology, etc. It may sound like a lot, but if I want to do this right, I'll need as many new concepts as I can get. The characters already seamlessly fit into this new magic system, and I have been able to construct new technology and cultural ideas as the plot develops. I still have yet to begin a draft, but I am excited for when I'll get there. More details coming soon!
