Takara Juba has wanted to attend UA since seeing her favorite hero Suneater in her childhood. Following the Paranormal Liberation War, a new wave of heroes emerges, but so does a new adversary. In the fallout, secrets surface, anger ignites, and villains wait in the shadows. Takara just barely passes the UA entrance exam, and she’s thrust into the limelight when Japan’s recovery is on its last leg. Despite her recurring failures, Takara is determined to make a name for herself and do the right thing. But amidst the secrets swirling around her, who will tell her what that right thing is?
Jaded is a story that I am actively updating every Friday. While I still use the worldbuilding elements of Horikoshi's My Hero Academia, this story has an original plot and features an original cast of characters.

Takara Juba
Gender/Sexuality: Bisexual Female
Quirk: Nephrite Jade (the ability to grow jade from the calcium and magnesium in her body)
Birthday: August 3
Appearance: Takara has straight, chestnut hair and grey eyes. Due to her quirk, she has jade crystals growing out of her skin. They appear duller because of calcium deposits on the outside. They only remain raised on parts of skin with bone immediately below. Otherwise, they’ll sink back into her muscles. She stands at 5’4.
Personality: She is quite friendly and confident. Takara is quite prideful and generally tries to lead in situations, whether she’s asked permission or not
Important Info: Takara is the main character of Jaded. She has a younger brother and has a pretty good relationship with her family. Her parents are jewelers. Her favorite hero is Suneater.
Likes: Dogs, green, heroes, making friends
Dislikes: Being out of the spotlight, secrets
Kaede Komatso
Gender/Sexuality: Asexual Lesbian Female
Quirk: Pixie (in addition to her silver and gold wings, this allows her to produce pixie dust from her own happiness which makes things float)
Birthday: September 21
Appearance: Kaede stands at 5’8. She has long russet hair that she keeps in a braid and sage green eyes. Her ears are pointed and generally perk up. She has large silver and gold butterfly wings.
Personality: Kaede is the more enthusiastic and outgoing of the twins. She is very cheerful and is very forgiving. She is a true hero at heart, always looking out for others.
Important Info: Kaede always forgets people’s birthdays. She’s a bit flighty at times. One could compare her to a golden retriever with ease. She is a vegetarian
Likes: Sunshine, flying, periwinkle
Dislikes: Being angry, boredom, tight spaces
Aiya Komatso
Gender/Sexuality: Heterosexual Female
Quirk: Pixie (in addition to her silver and black wings, this allows her to produce pixie dust from her own happiness which makes things float)
Birthday: September 21
Appearance: Aiya stands at 5’8, but slouches a bit. She has long pale hair that she keeps in a bun. She has light green eyes and pointed ears that generally lay back. She has silver and black monarch wings.
Personality: Aiya is the more reserved of the twins. She prefers to keep to herself rather than hang out with others, but she holds a deep admiration for all her friends. She rarely engages in conversation of her own accord. Aiya is very prideful and wants to prove she’s hero material
Important Info: Aiya tends to stay close with her twin. She greatly looks up to heroes. She loves spending a rainy/cold day inside, snuggled up with a good book. Her favorite moments are the ones she can spend with Kaede, flying above the clouds at sunset. She is also a vegetarian
Likes: Rain, blankets, hot chocolate, reading, flying

Tatsuo Araya
Gender/Sexuality: Heterosexual Male
Quirk: Animal Transfiguration (through his life, defining moments leave tattoos on his body of certain animals. From that point forward, he is able to turn into those animals at will if he channels the memories. At the moment, he has a lion and a dolphin transformation.)
Birthday: May 18
Appearance: Araya is 5’10 and relatively muscular. He has shaggy brown hair, tan skin, and golden eyes with slitted pupils. His canine teeth are long and razor sharp. His ears are those of a lion, placed on top of his head.
Personality: Araya is quite laid back and relaxed, though snarky comments and banter aren’t out of his wheelhouse either. His eyes are always watching and analyzing something. His abilities are something he always shows confidence in. He can be quite protective over the people close to him.
Important Info: He always keeps leather and beaded bracelets on his wrists. He generally has more female friends
Likes: Hammocks, braiding hair, his lion tattoo
Dislikes: Invasions of privacy, disrespect, harassment
Kisho Sugita
Gender/Sexuality: Homosexual Male
Quirk: Plasma Grenade (the ability to summon a ball of plasma in his hands that will explode upon impact or when it becomes unstable. The larger he grows the plasma ball, he needs to use his other hand to stabilize it)
Birthday: January 10
Appearance: Sugita is quite lean and stands at 6’1. He has rich brown skin and long silky black hair that fades to purple at the ends. His lavender eyes glow when he uses his quirk. He wears acrylic nails and has many gold piercings in his tiefling-esque ears.
Personality: Sugita is rather soft-spoken, with a voice like a lullaby, but won’t hesitate to make his opinion known. He acts very regal and is firm in his belief that people must follow the rules to maintain order. His words may have bite, but he isn’t very violent. He has a very gentle touch.
Important Info: His paternal grandfather was from Japan, but the rest of his family is Nigerian through and through. His parents lived in Lagos and moved back to Japan to take care of his grandfather before he was born. When he came around, they decided to stay, but they still have homes in both places. They still speak English and Hausa around the house, so he has picked it up fluently. Sugita has an impeccable sense of style and studies astrology in his downtime. He is scared of his quirk to an extent.

Sumi Ohara
Gender/Sexuality: Bicurious Female
Quirk: Living Pictures (the ability to reach into a picture and pull out whatever’s inside. If something is too big to fit through the edges of the photograph, it will take immense strength and will tear the photo to shreds if it makes it out. If the object is inanimate, it can be put back in its original undamaged photo. If the object is animate, the creature will serve her as a servant (listen to her every word and such). They must be discharged by her personally to return to their ink forms. It only takes energy to pull items from pictures and put them back, but they sustain themself)
Birthday: September 30
Appearance: Ohara is 5’0. She has short brown hair that she keeps in pigtails. She has electric blue eyes. Her ears are pointed at the ends, but not all that rigid, instead rather floppy. She has a tiny button nose.
Personality: Ohara is very withdrawn. She longs for friends, but has always been a bit of a loner, so she’s decided to lean into that. She’s independent out of sheer necessity and has a defiant streak about her.
Important Info: The Ohara family owns one of the biggest insurance corporations in Japan, providing their services to most hero agencies. Her older brother is being trained on the inner workings of the company. When she expressed no interest, they essentially waved her off and said “do whatever.” She thought this would be a great opportunity, but she soon realized that they didn’t care about what she did. They stopped showing interest in her whatsoever. They threw big parties for every holiday and, as a result, she began boycotting every celebration. She wants to be a hero to prove that she can be somebody worthy. As much as she hates to admit it, she still wants to make them proud.

Akihiko Hirose
Gender/Sexuality: Aromantic Male
Quirk: Porcelain (his whole body is made of porcelain which his consciousness controls. If he breaks apart, his consciousness acts as a hive mind to independently control each piece, but for the main goal of himself. The more pieces he breaks into, the more powerful he is. Smaller pieces can wedge into small spaces and larger pieces can make large cuts. It doesn’t take energy for him to break (it does hurt, but he’s practiced enough that he’s used to it), but it takes a lot of energy to fuse the pieces back together)
Birthday: August 17
Appearance: Hirose is 5’6 and the definition of lean. He has smooth pale skin and ash blonde hair that is always well kept. His large eyes are stormcloud grey.
Personality: He generally keeps out of other people’s business. He tends to vy for leadership positions. He has no shame in hiding just how powerful he is. He speaks with a dry tone, not one for sarcasm or overt happiness.
Important Info: Gossip bores him. He only rolls his eyes at drama. He’s a very heavy sleeper.
Likes: Bubble wrap, warmth
Dislikes: His classmates, gossip, dreams
Kazumi Endo
Gender/Sexuality: Demisexual Female
Quirk: Light and Shadow (she is made of shadow with a light exoskeleton keeping the shadows under control. She can concentrate the light and use it as projectiles or recede her light from her shadows so they can become a roiling cloud)
Birthday: July 6
Appearance: Kazumi’s body is mostly made up of shadows with an exoskeleton made out of tangible light. Her hair is a cloud of billowing shadows. Her eyes are orbs of cool light and have no pupil. She is 5’4 and quite curvy.
Personality: Kazumi is very shy, but also prideful. She gets very frustrated and angry when she fails at things.
Important Info: Kazumi wishes she didn’t draw as much attention as she did. She would prefer to live out her days in a cottage in the woods, growing her own food and being comfortable without ever having to talk to another person again. The only tie to society is that she witnessed a bad villain attack, saw the pain in people’s faces, and swore that she couldn’t stand by again, that she would get stronger. Her voice is raspy and hollow, like a rusted bell.

Kaylane Morita
Gender/Sexuality: Pansexual Female
Quirk: Torch (this gives her very flammable skin and the ability to ignite it at will)
Birthday: November 24
Appearance: Morita is of Romani and Brazilian descent. She has tan skin, a wild mane of black curls, hazel eyes, toned muscles, and most importantly, the best eyebrow game. She is 5’7.
Personality: Morita is wild and rambunctious, loving to make friends with anyone and everyone. She is very confident and prefers to work in teams. She loves surrounding herself with friends.
Important Info: She was based off of Kirishima and therefore has his grit and determination. As such, her favorite hero is of course Red Riot.
Likes: Acrobatics, gymnastics, black coffee
Dislikes: Mornings, mean people, fights with friends
Haru Ozaki
Gender/Sexuality: Heterosexual Male
Quirk: Sunflower (he can grow sunflowers from his skin and use their seeds as projectiles. He can then grow his seeds from a distance to create large flowers with thick stems and leaves)
Birthday: March 29
Appearance: Ozaki is 6 feet of pure muscle. He has golden curly hair and deep brown eyes. He has quite a square jaw. His usual attire is a t-shirt with joggers or jeans.
Personality: Ozaki is very gruff, especially around peppy people. He can get along just fine with calmer individuals or ones that show a certain determination. He is actually quite violent and will not hesitate to throw a punch if someone gets on his nerves.
Important Info: He relies on boxing as stress relief. He prefers to use brute force when it comes to fighting, but he’s smart enough to utilize his quirk in many ways during combat.
Likes: Boxing, sour things, skateboarding
