First Milestone in the Secret Project

Image
I have just checked off my first box on my bingo card! The project I have been keeping under wraps is coming along well, and I have officially finished the first draft of the first arc!  I have three more to go, but I'm very excited to get done with the first draft. This next arc will be fun to write, but my main goal was to get the first done before school started. I don't know when I'll have time to write next, but I know it'll be fun! I can't wait to share more details soon! And I will be working hard to get a bingo!

The Inspiration of Reading

I have been reading Emily Henry novels recently, by recommendations of both friends and family, and I find myself inspired to write after each instance of that spark  in her stories. You know the one, the "oh, this is so much more than I thought it was." The part with all the tingles and stuff. I'm currently reading Happy Place,  and so this part is accompanied with a lot of buzzed antics. While I, myself, have never been high, I find that the writing of this section is truly inspired because it reminds me of how I dream. Now, if you know me, you know I get a lot of ideas from my dreams, and I always work my best when I'm sleepy. This is a process called automatic writing (which I know I evangelize way too much) where you allow your mind to drift and simply follow it wherever it goes. No pausing, no editing, no questioning. You have to let the winds take you where they may. It's just that this book, and this moment, in particular have reminded me of this and inspi...

2025 Project Bingo

Image
One of my good friends Junie suggested this idea in the UA Storytellers discord to make bingo sheets for our 2025 projects as a fun way to hold ourselves accountable, so I have made one of my own and will post updates here. You can use the label "Project Bingo" to follow along. I will keep my current project name a secret for now, but I can still show you my board: I have already made good headway on my secret project, so I foresee some spots being checked off relatively soon. Some will require more time, but hey, I've got all year, right? Wish me luck! I hope I get a bingo!

Secret Projects and All That Jazz

Those who know me know that I adore a good secret project. I love to keep my work on the down low so that people are surprised when they read it. I appreciate the fact that nothing is spoiled for them. They get to experience it in the moment. I imagine this feels like picking up a book for the first time and knowing nothing about it. This is my favorite part of reading: the falling into the story, being surprised by each new element. And it makes me so happy to give that to readers. So, yes, I am currently working on a secret project. I wish I could talk more about it, but there unfortunately isn't much to share. I'm writing the first draft, just getting all my ideas out. I have to admit, it's horrendously rough. Each time I've done one of these projects, I've gotten better at info-dumping out a draft so that I can go back and edit with every thought on the page. Then, I'll know where to pare down the information, where to move things around to, where to add mor...

Happy New Year 2025!

Happy New Year! Is it presumptuous to think that I will blog more in the new year? Maybe, but I just like the way this allows me to share my thoughts. So, an update is in order... Since the last time I have posted, I have finished publishing Muted Voices  to Wattpad! (link in the Muted Voices tab) This was a huge project for me, as it allowed me to adapt to the worldbuilding already set out by Horikoshi in the My Hero Academia universe from the manga and anime. It was fantastic practice to create only a few characters and see how their interactions impact the story from the sidelines. As the story progressed, I found myself creating new plotlines and eventually felt ready to start work on my next big project. Jaded was a dream come true for me to work on. While still utilizing the MHA worldbuilding, I created entirely my own plot and cast of characters. The story is almost completely original in that way, and I love it for that. I wanted to see if I had enough skill to create the i...

Welcome!

Hello friends! I'm not sure how often I will post, but I do hope to be rather active. I have a lot to talk about with writing and art and stuff, and sometimes I feel bad filling group chats with it. So, I will turn to here to sort of dump my thoughts. I don't plan to share many spoilers, but keep your eyes peeled and you might catch a couple. If you've found me through Wattpad, hi!! If you have not, I do encourage you to check out my stories on there, otherwise character discussions will be very confusing.  I hope you'll enjoy what I have in store for you!
